Culture Day: Celebrating New Mexicos Diversity at the Roundhouse

(Santa Fe, NM)— The Department of Cultural Affairs is pleased to announce Culture Day, taking place on March 4, 2019 at the Roundhouse. From 8:00am to 2:30pm, a collection of New Mexico’s cultural organizations and museums will exhibit aspects of the state’s diverse landscape.
New Mexico Farm & Ranch Heritage Museum will present carding, spinning, and weaving wool while the New Mexico Arts staff will provide books, CDs, and posters from their Traditional Folk Arts and Poetry programs. New Mexico Arts will also be showing videos from their Public Art program as well as their New Mexico Arts grant funding recipients. Activities include a Mole Tortilla printing contest, presented by the National Hispanic Cultural Center. The giveaway prize will be Bueno tortillas.
Experience New Mexico’s heritage with the Department of Cultural Affairs’ rich divisions. This event is free and family friendly.

Created in 1978 by the New Mexico Legislature, the Department of Cultural Affairs represents New Mexico’s dedication to preserving and celebrating the cultural integrity and diversity of our state. The Department also oversees the New Mexico State Library, Historic Preservation Division, New Mexico Arts, and the Office of Archaeological Studies.
